My husband and I own and operate The Harrisburg Improv Theatre. My husband trained in NYC for several years and completed several levels of improv training at The Upright Citizen Brigade Theatre and The Magnet Theatre. I fell in love with improv as an art form at that time, almost ten years ago! I have aided in teaching over the years with him at festivals but never felt I wanted to perform. But to really be around improv and try it yourself can be a life changing thing, and also very addictive!
Until the theatre became a reality and I completed courses 101 and 102 at our theatre, I auditioned and now rehearse and perform weekly with one of our house teams.
When we first opened our doors, I taught a monthly free class for kids, to gain experience, to test the water and see if there was interest, and also because my daughter love, love, loves to do improv!
I have hosted improv birthday events for children and adults, and I am currently studying and gearing up to teach adult classes at The Hit, as well as coach a graduating team.
So that's a quick back story. Feel free to ask me anything, ever!
My favorite thing is being a mom, so this class and developing the kids element to our family's business is where my passion is.
I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom (who has worked from home) of three kids: Lily (8), Morgan (3), and Quinn (1). We live in HBG city with a giant St. Bernard and a cat named Christmas.
